Boulder may rank as one of the priciest locations in Colorado when it comes to real estate.  Hemmed in by building restrictions, mountain foothills and other communities, Boulder hasn't grown much in recent years and so real estate prices continue to grow.  Add to that the cache of living in this college town, and real estate can be out of reach for many.   There are a great deal of rental homes throughout the city; these are primarily occupied by college students.  Single family homes are plentiful, with less expensive neighborhoods to the east and south of town.  Homes on the mountainside or just below are gorgeous and very expensive.
