25 miles northwest of Denver, nestled at the foot of the spectacular Flatirons, Boulder, Colorado is home to the University of Colorado and a liberal oasis in a generally conservative state.  The city of 95,000 attracts academics, intellectuals, those interested in outdoor recreation, environmentalism and social justice.  Boulder does have a bit of snob appeal, and it is not without its problems, but it is still a stimulating and vibrant community.  Unfortunately, not everyone can afford to live in Boulder as real estate prices have significantly increased in recent years.
