Colorado Lodging

As with most states, Colorado offers a wide choice when it comes to finding accommodations.  Denver is home to everything from strip motels to charming bed and breakfasts to 5 star hotels, including the wonderful Brown Palace Hotel.  This Denver landmark has accommodated presidents and rock stars and gives visitors an elegant taste of days gone by.  The Brown is located across from The Navarre, a stately old building that at one time was Denver's premier gambling establishment.  Gentlemen guests from the Brown used an underground tunnel to travel to the Navarre to enjoy its hospitality without attracting attention.   The rail car tracks are still visible today!

Vacation Rentals

The vast majority of vacation rentals in Colorado are in the mountains, although you'll also find some in the cities along the front range (Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Boulder, etc.).   Ski towns, including Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Copper Mountain and others, are full of condominium and town home vacation rentals.  There are also some spectacular single family homes for rent on a weekly or monthly basis. Rates in these locations are often less in the summer, even though the scenery is spectacular year-round.

You'll also find vacation rentals in the Colorado gambling towns, which are Blackhawk, Cripple Creek and Central City.  These locations are small so the number of rentals is limited.   You might also consider some lesser-known towns, such as Creede or Estes Park or Grand Lake.  They don't offer skiing, but they are in gorgeous locations and are wonderful for simply getting away from it all.
